about

"Everyone dreams of the ability to fly. There is no better feeling than the feeling of flight. But the flight can't last long, at least it lasts shorter than the path that lead's to the ability to fly. This path is exhausting and difficult, it requires a lot of effort and constant work. This is the way to create yourself.
Picture a caterpillar. With no wings, she has no other organs or biosystems for a flight. All she has is the perception of that one day she will rise above the surface on which she yet could only crawl and, into a butterfly, rise into the sky. This story is not about flight - it is about a long metamorphosis that requires patience, accumulation of resources. It even needs a sacrifice because in order to turn into a butterfly, the caterpillar has to experience numerous changes and even a partial destruction of its own body.
To some extent, this is a story about a long, difficult path to rebirth."
(The Caterpillar Story, 2021)

This album is the original soundtrack to the video-essay based on biography of German speaking poetess Rosa Auslender "The Caterpillar Story" (dir. Oleh Barasij)
